Railroad Tycoon

I got excited, when I downloaded this app in the iOS App Market, because I was hoping it would be a free version of Sid Meir’s epic Railroad Tycoon. Instead, I got a different game, altogether and was unamused.

Instead of sending locomotives from one destination to another, your objective is to turn train tracks in different directions, hopefully, connecting all of the track pieces together to make one giant course.

The concept of the game was novel, but the fact that they are using another title, already popularized 20 years ago, didn’t sit well with me. The game itself is interesting and fun to play, if you are a fan of complex puzzles like a Rubix Cube or Jenga, but it’s not interesting enough for me to keep the game on my smartphone.
